Christmas is slowly draining me ...

So, I'm officially broke thanks to Christmas. Well, Christmas and the au-pair agency that I sent my application to ... which means: HOORAY! I'm finally done with all the forms I had to fill in and the certificates I had to get! Next thing that's on my list: think of the important questions I'm going to ask the family once I get into contact with them.

In the few hours that have not been devoted to Christmas shopping and gift wrapping I've suddenly found myself watching tons of QI. It's seriously, seriously good! I can't believe I've been missing out on that for so long! Oh, and by the way, has anybody else noticed how sometimes you'll get to know something that's apparently very popular, but you've never heard of it before and suddenly you see it popping up everywhere? Well, today I turned on the TV and you know who was on Austrian television? Alan Davies! Weird much?

Aaanyway, back to gift wrapping and worrying about what to get my granddad for Christmas now ... I've got absolutely no idea :(

Hurrah! I'm glad you got your au pair application finished and sent in! Application fees are evil.

Being broke is no good, though. :( Christmas shopping tends to do that to me, too, especially since a bunch of the family has late December birthdays, too. We went with fancy frames and nice pictures for the grandparents, but I don't know if that's something your granddad would appreciate.

They are -.-! 200 euros it cost me! That was like half of what I'd saved!

Oh, tell me about it - it's like three quarters of my family have their birthdays in either November, December or January!

Oh, I think he would, but the problem is that I already gave him stuff like that last year, I think. *sigh* I think he'll get the self-made burnt cookies after all -.-

Hey, cookies are always good, especially home-made ones, even when burnt ;)

I made my parents taste them and supposedly they're not even that horrible ;)! So I guess cookies it is!

Christmas seems to get more expensive every year! I've been so lazy about it - I still have presents to wrap, and ugh, such a chore.

Yes it does - I used to spend about a hundred euros ... now I'm up to about 200 -.- My poor student purse does not like the spending ...

I used to get my grandad chocolate every year, just so he'd give some to me :P

Where have you applied to au pair?

Oh, love the chocolate! I think I'm going to give him some cookies this year. They're slightly burnt but still edible, so I hope it'll be alright :D!

Actually I want to go to the UK - let's see where I'll land myself ~.^!
